We hope the following information gives you a good picture of our lovely school, our values and our vision. Our children are at the heart of our school, which is a loving and supportive place to learn. We are a Catholic school but we are also an integral part of our whole community and fully reflect the cultural makeup of families in our area. Families with no faith or of other faiths are warmly welcomed and make up a significant number of our school family. We are proud to be part of Bishop Chadwick Catholic Education Trust.

We aim for every child to achieve their very best as they grow with us while developing strong relationships, strong values and a love of learning. We are proud of our children who work hard, have fun, respect and care for one another and achieve high standards. Children leaving our school in Year 6, leave with high standards and ready for the world beyond. 

We believe in working in close home-school partnership and know that children achieve their best when they share their learning with interested adults. We value our community highly and have strong cultural and heritage links which we celebrate and encourage our children to take pride in.

On Wednesday 18th December we will be serving our Christmas dinner menu ! If your child is on packed lunch and would like a Christmas dinner please let the school office know by Monday 9th December. For children in Year 3-6 who are not eligible for Free School Meals there will be a charge of £2.50 payable on ParentPay Thank you for your continued support

Today, 18 children from year 5 and 6 attended ESSP Sportshall Athletics competition at East Durham College. The children performed both track and field events and many came first in their heat. Miss Scarr and Mrs Cook couldn’t be prouder of the children for their effort, resilience and sportsmanship shown throughout the event. The competition finished with small school awards and overall events winners. The children were delighted as they placed 2nd in the small schools category and 5th overall out of 18 schools. Well Done!

This week, gymnastics club worked on their balance and coordination when moving around the hall. They kept their movements controlled which is key when performing gymnastics skills. Using a bean bag helped the children to recognise when their movements were too big or fast as they would drop it. After, they finished off by going over last weeks rolls along with adding in some new ones.

Well done to our latest Stars Of The Week. Children from each year group have received awards for lots of things including good work, great manners, sporting achievements and contributions to school life. We love to celebrate the wonderful things our children do every week.

Today, to celebrate National Engineering Day, Year 5 had an exciting opportunity to participate in a STEM careers video meeting with three engineers, giving them a unique chance to learn about the various fields within engineering. During the meeting, the engineers shared insights into their careers, explaining the different types of engineering they specialise in, such as civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering....
